Crazy for curry? These 3 Indian restaurants in Makati should be your best bet if you’re looking for curry that will send you straight to India to appease the curry gods.
Swagat Indian Cuisine is perfect if you’re looking for home-cooked Indian cuisine. Swagat is located along Rada street in Legaspi Village.
This Indian restaurant is a hole-in-the wall kind establishment, and is frequented by expats looking for reasonably-priced and freshly cooked gourmet dishes.
The food is personally prepared by co-owner, Komal Khachandani. Order the Shrimp Curry, which is cooked with mildly spiced rich curry sauce. It is best enjoyed with a plate of Biryani rice cooked in fresh herbs and spices.
Swagat Indian Cuisine is located along Rada Street, and is open from 11am till 11pm
2. Royal Indian Curry House
The name doesn’t lie. Royal Indian Curry House popularly known as RICH, is five-stories, and extravagantly decorated. Above the ground floor, they have pool tables, and shisha bars on the third floor.
What makes it RICH the expansive 17-page menu. Try the Kadhai Gosht, a dish with cooked down muttons, onions, and capsicums simmered in rich tomato gravy sauce, with biryani rice.
Royal Indian Curry House is on General Luna St, Poblacion, just right across the A-Venue mall. They are open from 12pm till 5am.
Kashmir defines Indian fine dining experience; and is one of the first Indian restaurants in Manila.
My favorite is the chicken Tikka Masala, with buttered naan bread.
The Tikka Masala roasted chicken marinated with yogurt and spices, and cooked in orange tomato sauce to give it the perfect balance of sweet and sour flavor.
Kashmir can be found along 816 Arnaiz Avenue, and is open from 11am till 11pm.
